Source 1™ opens first of three new locations in Chicago area for
York, Guardian and Source 1™ products
Johnson
Controls, a global multi-industrial company, will celebrate the
grand opening of its newest Source 1™ HVAC Supply Center in Vernon
Hills, Illinois, on Sept. 10. The first of three new locations
opening in the Chicago area, the center handles York, Guardian and
Source 1 products. Source 1 is the exclusive supplier of factory
authorized service parts and residential accessories for all Johnson
Controls Unitary Products residential and light commercial HVAC
equipment. The company also offers a broad variety of universal HVAC
parts, supplies and accessories from many manufacturers.
The Vernon Hills grand opening will include live product displays,
interactive demos and the opportunity to talk with vendors and
representatives from Johnson Controls Unitary Products Group. The
celebration will provide attendees with a chance to meet former
Chicago Blackhawks player and 1980 Olympic Hockey Gold Medal winner
Jack O’Callahan and enjoy complimentary food and refreshments. In
addition, HVAC tools, Blackhawks memorabilia, gift certificates and
other items will be raffled off throughout the day, and contractors
will get a first glimpse at rebates, sales and promotions being
launched to celebrate the new store openings.
New stores in the Chicago suburbs of Elgin and Aurora will celebrate
grand openings on Oct. 2 and Oct. 23, respectively. “As each new
center opens, we are providing contractors with a one-stop source
for equipment, parts and HVAC-related supplies as well as HVAC
expertise and training, all in a single convenient location,” said
Chris Cozzi, Johnson Controls Chicago Area district general manager,
factory direct. “Our goal is to help contractors improve their
productivity and profitability.”

Like existing stores
in Elmhurst and Tinley Park, the Vernon Hills location will
stock more than 24,000 products from York, Source 1 and other
industry-leading HVAC manufacturers. “We also offer a full line
of York and Guardian residential heating and cooling systems and
related accessories, along with ductless mini-splits, packaged
rooftop solutions and indoor/outdoor split systems,” Cozzi
noted.
In addition, contractors will find a wide array of HVAC test
instruments, tools and supplies – ranging from gauges, recovery
equipment and vacuum pumps to tape, filters and pipe and
electrical fittings – and have the ability to tap into local
training programs and the technical expertise of store
employees.
“We’re creating a full-service solution where inventory is
replenished on a nightly basis,” explained Jeffrey Meyer,
Johnson Controls vice president, factory direct, North America.
“This model enables us to operate our service centers closer to
where our contractors and dealers work every day and helps them
be more productive, reducing their travel time and allowing them
to spend more time completing a repair or proper install.”
For contractors in the Chicago area, the address of the newest
Source 1 HVAC Supply Center is 859 W. End Ct., Suite 101, Vernon
Hill, Illinois 60061.
