MCA Chicago Announces New
Board of Directors.
Kevin Condon, Chicago, to lead for
2012-2013
The Mechanical Contractors Association Chicago (MCA Chicago)
announces its 2012-2013 Board of Directors with Kevin Condon, Great
Lakes Plumbing & Heating, Chicago, as the incoming president. New to
the board are Brian Helm, CEO, Helm Group, Freeport, Ill., and
George Englebrecht, executive vice president, Hayes Mechanical,
Chicago. Helm and Englebrecht were elected to a two-year term on the
board.
“The staff at MCA Chicago looks forward to working with this board
in the coming year. We pride ourselves on remaining ahead of the
curve and we’ve been fortunate to have a very forward-thinking
board,” says Stephen Lamb, Executive Vice President of MCA Chicago.
The board is
comprised of 10 members and includes: Marc Pittas, Hill Mechanical,
as Vice President; Michael McCombie, F. E. Moran, as
Secretary/Treasurer; and Greg Kroh, BMW Constructors, as Past
President.
Additional
members are Peter Baier, Corrigan Company; John Berzanskis, AMS
Mechanical;
Tom Ridgway, AMEX Construction Company Inc.; and Tim Smerz, Air
Comfort Corporation.

Condon comes to the board with
more than 30 years of volunteer service to MCA Chicago including
experience on its arbitration, government relations, safety and
audit committees. He has been employed with Great Lakes Plumbing
& Heating since 1981, becoming president in 2000.
Englebrecht is a
third-generation pipefitter, joining Hayes Mechanical in 2001. He is
active in community issues: working on the Illinois Commission on
Diversity & Human Relations and served as honorary chair for its
annual Martin Luther King, Jr. remembrance event. He is also an avid
fundraiser for Down Syndrome and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
research.
Helm is CEO of the
Helm Group and also president of Mechanical Inc., one of the Helm
Group operating companies. He is involved in many industry groups
including roles as chairman of the Rockford Pipe Trades trust funds,
chairman of Chicago Local Union 597 Pipe Fitter apprentice training
committee, and chairman of Mechanical Contractors Association of
America education committee.
