The free class will be

first-come, first-served basis to builders, contractors and

Hands-on course to cover tips and
techniques for proper heat load calculations.
The City of Naperville is hosting
a free residential HVAC training class for contractors in July
that will give them shortcuts and tips for using software
required to generate data and information necessary for
residential City permit applications as of January 1, 2013.
The free class will be conducted by Elite Software and is being
offered on a first-come, first-served basis to builders,
contractors and architects. The class will take place from 7AM
to 4PM on Wed., July 18 at the Electric Service Center, 1392
Aurora Ave. Lunch will not be provided; however, there will be a
lunch break for participants. All participants are required to
bring a personal laptop to the class. Those interested in
participating are asked to RSVP by Wed., July 11 by calling

The hands-on class will
provide a method for single-family builders, contractors and
architects to complete and submit the ACCA Manual J, Manual S
and Manual D forms, all of which will be required in residential
City permit applications. The course will cover the fundamental
processes of a heat load, methods of entering data in the
program, short-cuts for quick load calculations and techniques
for using the software. Participants will also be given a brief
overview of Drawing Board, which creates a heat load while doing
a drawing, Manual D Duct Size, which designs ductwork
automatically and Audit for operating cost analysis.
